Exercising Enthusiasm.

“If you aren’t fired with enthusiasm, you will be fired with enthusiasm”..

Trust me, I read it more than a time to understand.

As I spoke earlier about having the passion, making the right choices, staying committed to promise and spreading a buoyant smile, something beyond it all ringed a bell to me, probably if the above said all are your gears to ride a 1000cc sports bike on a freeway, then enthusiasm is the key to that bike called life. To keep things at the most basic rung, you need that enthusiasm to get off your bed and to even start walking towards your life.

Enthusiasm is like preaching the self to throw ourselves into life with vigor, making dynamic and full of pep moments while we follow what our heart desires sabotaging the mental blocks if at all something is there. It is like when we try very hard to clear the preliminaries and move to the final bout there can be positive as well as negative ramifications. If the struggle had been too severe we either tend to relax or the successful ones will get energized with their position seeing an improvement. The catch here is, ensure that you do not relax after initial success, though the destination isn’t far, it still has to be travelled and for that a somber mind will not help.

Let me make a little reference to Rahul Dravid, neither he could get the kind of records which sachin has nor has been a successful captain like Dhoni or Ganguly but why is it that people love him and above it respect him? He was and still is energetic and as conscientious about exercising enthusiasm as he was about selecting his own cricket bats while he was playing, working out in the heat and doing what not? It might not be surprising that he gets so much respect for just being and doing his profession. It is the kind of enthusiasm and passion he had for the game is making him be respected all over the world.

I get reminded about a very famous quote on him, “If you wanna know what is aggression, just look into the eyes of Rahul”. So just to clear the air of doubt just in case if it’s there, enthusiasm isn’t about being overjoyed or shouting at the top of your voice, it is the about having the mix of calmness and aggression in your actions and trust me it will never make you tired.

Enthusiastic, radiant people are those who are always happy because they have formed the habit of always being so. They have learned the art by looking always on the brighter side of every event instead of the dark side. I have never experienced this but I guess those who always see the brighter side will only order for a sunny side up egg and not a full boiled one, jokes apart I feel there is a clear indication on its importance.

At first it will be very hard for it & difficult to see the good side, and so easy to see the bad side of those early events which we call “misfortunes.” The more often one practices seeing the good in every failure, the harder it is to see the bad. Happy people have learned to be happy because their own philosophy has made them believe that is the best way to live. Happy people are always optimists.

There are a few ways to exercise enthusiasm, which I follow and find it useful as well. Concentrate on what you want and care about that thought deeply, think of it and let it resonate deep inside you, have the eagerness and energy which a kid will have on entering Disney world for the first time, -the 2 e’s important for enthusiasm and more importantly help others- that’s the biggest motivator I have ever seen in my life.

Success does not come from having one’s work recognized by others. It is the fruit of the seed that you lovingly planted, so ensure your enthusiasm doesn’t cease when others start talking about what you’ve been doing, maybe that’s when you should be even more cautious and more disciplined. You succeeded in gaining respect for your work because you did not work only to survive, but to demonstrate your love towards your goal to others.

You will eventually manage to finish what you began, even though you do not foresee all the traps along the way if not every time but definitely at times and it becomes visible when you look back. Remember, whatsoever said and done, your enthusiasm will wane at times and that’s when it is more important to reach out for discipline.
If you claim that without proper exercising and workout no person can be fit in this age of the world, then you must definitely accept that without exercising enthusiasm your life too will become obese,be rest assured that with eagerness and energy you get to enthusiasm and with that one can definitely develop a vehement streak which can make failure an impossibility.
“To him who knocks, the door will open.
He who asks will receive.
He who consoles knows that he will be consoled”.
