The Congruency of truth: Who Drives you?
Who are you?
Human personality is a composition
of various cells and sub cells, just like how the human biology is, the concept
of truth, is like adding biology to our actions. Everyone has their own one
single sub cell which when left alone can drive, motivate, inspire the other
cells which is nothing but the true self of every person but due to a various other
hindrances in many cases it gets arrested inside, and we remain captives of our
own identities.
It is true that every one of us have multiple
personalities within us, but what is important to understand is that which sub
cell controls and leads! Intrinsically each of us have a true self and a false
self, introspect for a while about yourself.
Are you often feeling alive,
awake, strong, confident, grounded, optimistic, and compassionate and you carry
a serene mind, those are the times when your true self is exposed. Every single
human born in this world are driven by such traits and only when anyone of this
is disturbed, we unknowingly switch to what I call as the “false self”. In
order to restore ourselves back to what we feel is the best normalcy for us, we
resort to shortcuts and when we do that, our actions do not reflect our true
self.
The congruency goes for a toss!
What I meant by the congruency
of truth is, our actions, personality must be like an ambigram and not
merely like a palindrome. It is not all that inscrutable after all. While false self-dominance is normal, widespread, and
promotes survival vs. growth. It's like a distrustful,
disgruntled violinist, tuba player, and lead tenor pushing their talented
conductor off the podium and fighting over who will lead the orchestra.
People who are used to being
controlled by a false self, experience that as normal. The idea that there
is another sub self in them that - if allowed to - can consistently make
wiser, healthier life decisions is unbelievable. Do you relate? Kids and adults
range between "a little wounded" or "very wounded,"
depending on (a) any early-childhood abandonment, neglect, and abuse (trauma),
(b) how many sub selves are vying to control us, and (c) how often they disable our true
Self.
While, in my blog on Pragmatism, I wrote about truth as not just a mere agreement of our ideas with
the reality, truth is also not only about talking the truth, but being true to
oneself, to who we really are!
Milk and palm wine has the same color,
The Eyes that gaze on it are still the same,
yet, when consumed they are different!
Appearances create a perception, it deceives yet, what we are hardly changes.
As Gandhi said, Truth and non-violence
are as old as the mountains, I wanted to check the analogy of it with the
Panchamahabutas.
Truth is like the water,
A few love the petrichor and
dabble, love the serenity in the form of a beach,
While many fear the
possibility of a tsunami!
Truth is like the fire,
A few always basks under its
warmth,
While many fear the
possibility of a forest fire or a volcano!
Truth is like the land,
A few will want to be consumed
by wanderlust,
While many fear the
possibility to get lost in the vastness!
Truth is like the Sky,
A few will want to give wings
to their thought and fly in it,
While many fear the
possibility of a fall with their parachutes not opening up!
Finally,
Truth is like the Air,
While many enjoy with their
expensive air conditioners,
A few need it as the only
source of rich Oxygen!
True! Each of us is forced to wear a mask to hide the real self and yet keep things going when the situation demands. Good work....
