Enlightenment that, rain showers upon.
"விண்இன்று பொய்ப்பின் விரிநீர் வியனுலகத்து
உள்நின்று உடற்றும் பசி."
"Vinindru poipin virineer viyanulagathu,
Ulnindru udhatrum pasi"
Meaning: IF the rains which are
supposed to quench the thirst of this earth doesn’t do it, the vastness of this
land surrounded by water everywhere will be stalked by famine and sore torment.
In my article of The emergence of life, I had written that the purpose of
our life is for the benefit of others, and the money that we get in return is
just a small function of it. On the hindsight we are satisfied with the job
only if it pays us more. Intrinsically, we create a delusion for ourselves as
the biggest driver for the satisfaction of our job is the money. By and large.
I don't deny it, & I am neither Suggesting nor hinting that it is more
awesome to be a free Lancer.
To take a dive into the thirukurral written above, let us
look at the purpose of rain, from its perspective? Why does it rain?
In simple terms, it is just another form of precipitation,
that when warm moist air cools and when condensation occurs it pours down in
the form of a rain, just because warm air can hold more water than cool air,
when the warmer air is cooled the moisture condenses to liquid - and it rains.
As simple as it is. Now, on the flip side, we humans in this
earth who gets benefited a lot, never stop praying every day for more, but do
we thank? That is a whole different story altogether, I will be digressing from
this topic if I start writing about it. It is just because rain does it work,
we all stay alive, get water, stay hydrated, so on and so forth.
Does all this bother the process of how it rains?
Our lives are as similar the rains. Unknowingly our works
benefits so many lives, that we unknowingly touch upon... I'm sure you'd have
realized it when at some point you came across someone thanking you from their
heart. If it hasn't, you either haven't worked enough or your wait is going to
make it sweeter.
Getting back to reality,
the bitter reality is that we ask for, 'what's in it for me, to be spending
my time, when I'm not getting monetary returns'. Wait. We never do it to our
friends, that's how our psychology works. It is only partially skewed. To keep
it precise, answer me this question, "How often have you helped a person
whom you've never come across before?" Magically touching their lives, it
may be as simple as giving them a meal.
To realize this, you have to start feeling it with an altered state of mind about the
happiness in the intangible emotions. The routings of our thoughts which
flow inwards needs to flow outwards at times.
I'll add upon one small thought which is like a drop of a
poison in one gallon of pure milk, very much enough to blemish it, "how am
I going to be benefited or, what's the return or, if in future this association
will bring solutions to my desires." The moment you push this
thought out, be rest assured about the hindrance moving away.
For the rain, it is suffusing it downwards, just because the
cool air cannot hold the Water, but imagine just in case it behaves like us and
thinks, what is it for me to pour it all out on to them for their benefits, who
in turn do nothing for my benefit. What if there is no Petrichor ? What if there is no Rainbow ? What If you cannot listen to the rhythm of the falling rain ? What if you are not able to sing," rain, rain go away", What if there are no more rains, to shower on your spirit and wet your soul?
I leave the imagination to yourself.
Help others to help yourself.
Love others to love yourself.
P.S: never carry regrets and change, cause you showed it all
once to the wrong person and don't be scared to repeat it all over.
Dear Shriram, Rain is metaphor of our fertile Life, great going, keep writing, God Bless!
